2024 Foundation Scholarships

The Luis Scott, Jr Leadership Awards


With sincere gratitude to alumnus, Luis Scott, Jr. (c/o 1999), the foundation is honored to steward this awards program that will honor 2 graduating seniors annually. This program is nominations-based and the foundation will work closely with coaches, teachers, and guidance counselors to identify candidates. Applications for nominees are due by Friday, March 22nd to Mrs. Conner.

Luis Scott, Jr Leadership in Athletics Award

Recognizing current student-athletes who demonstrate exceptional leadership on and off the field and/or have overcome a challenging circumstance to achieve success. The recipient of this award will receive a $5000 scholarship prize.

8-Figure Firm Future Business Leader Award

Recognizing students who are active in business or CTAE program courses with an interest in future entrepreneurial endeavors & demonstrating the qualities necessary to succeed in business leadership (i.e.) positive, persevering, and self-starting. The recipient of this award will receive a $5000 scholarship prize.

The Red & Black Gives Back Award


This program awards students based on community involvement and volunteerism. It offers (2) graduating seniors a one-time payment of $1000. Nominees for this are recognized by teachers, coaches, or school administrators for their commitment to giving back to your community - giving of their time, talents, or resources to help elevate those around them. As a volunteer-based organization ourselves, we want to commend their efforts. Additional entries are accepted via essay submission for students who maintain a min. GPA of 3.0.

To apply for this scholarship, students should submit a short-form essay (3-4 paragraphs) on your community giving including details such as:

o Organization/group(s) you support

o Why you are passionate about the organization/group(s)?

o What impact are you making on others?

o How has the experience impacted you?

o What are your aspirations following graduation?

o (Optional) Any photos or supporting documents that showcase your experience.

Essays to be submitted to Mrs. Conner by Wednesday, April 3rd.
